- Contract requires mechanical thinning and slash treatment on an 88 acre plantation using a trackhoe with boom, horsepower range of 100-180 with PSI less than or equal to 4.5 PSI with masticating/mulching/shredding type heads. Equipment must be able to cut up to 13 inch trees. Plantation is 33 years of age and trees average approximately 35 feet tall. Stand is predominantly Ponderosa Pine with some Douglas Fir and Engelmann Spruce. Project area is located approximately on the Clearwater Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest in the vicinity of North Blacktail Butte. Project area is located approximately 10 air miles east of Grangeville, 30 miles by road. Estimated start date for the project is 6/1/2011 with performance to be completed within 21 days. A formal pre-bid tour will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Attendees will meet at the Nez Perce National Forest Supervisor's Office at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time. Interested parties are encouraged to attend the pre-bid tour as the site will likely be under snow and inaccessible during the solicitation period; the gate closes December 1st. Quoters must be certified HUBZone concerns with the U.S. Small Business Administration to be eligible for consideration.
