Description
DLA Aviation intends to extend the current Pratt & Whitney Corporate Contract SPM400-01-D-9405 to continue uninterrupted support of the F100, TF33, and J52 engine lines through the existing Requirements-Type Corporate Contract with Pratt & Whitney (CAGE Codes 52261 and 77445), for sole source items managed by DLA, until a follow-on contract is awarded. A Class J&A has been approved. The proposed contract extension is for up to 12 months from February 15, 2011 through February 14, 2012. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. The statutory authority permitting Other than Full and Open Competition is authorized by 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), implemented under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2) which authorizes other than full and open competition when the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The present contract with Pratt & Whitney is due to expire on February 14, 2011. The proposed contract extension will allow uninterrupted support of the F100, TF33, and J52 engine lines until completion of the on-going follow-on procurement. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS UNDER FAR PART 12, 15, OR AN INVITATION FOR BIDS UNDER FAR PART 14. IF PARTIES CHOOSE TO RESPOND, ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH THE PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AR THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RESPONDENT AND WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED BY THE GOVERNMENT. Interested parties believing they have all of the capabilities may submit proposals within 45 days of publication of this notice to the following address: DLA Aviation Richmond, 8000 Jefferson Davis Highway, Richmond, VA 23297-5000, ATTN: Allison Douglewicz (DSCR-ARCS)
