Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a Hollow Cathode Magnetron Sputtering source forthe X-ray Astrophysics Laboratory, Code 662.One each, Isoflux Model 6217PM-CThe Isoflux Model 6217PM-C is a hollow cathode magnetron sputtering source. The Model6217PM-C features a proprietary Isoflux high field uniformity magnet design, whichproduces excellent target utilization for sputtering precious metals.Specifications: The following specifications apply to the Model 6217PM-C:Overall dimensions (approx.): Outside diameter- 30 in.Length- 7.8 in.Target dimensions: Outside diameter- 24.250 inLength- 7.000 in.Wall thickness- up to 0.250 in.Maximum continuous power: 6.0 kW dcOperating pressure range: 5 to 50 mTorrCooling water: 1 gallon/min @ 20o CMaterials exposed to vacuum: Stainless steel, VitonR andglass- filled TeflonRMounting: Integral component, sealed at the topand bottom.Approximate weight: 160 lbs.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Isoflux Incorporated, pursuant to FAR13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably availablefrom only one source. The high field uniformity magnet design is proprietary to Isoflux.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations must submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. EST time onthe date given above. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
