- This is not a request for quote; this is a notice of the government's intent to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Hyper9, Inc, 9015 Mountain Ridge Drive, Suite 220, Austin, TX 78759, pursuant to FAR PART 6.302-1(a) (2), only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy the agency’s requirements. Washington Headquarters Service, Acquisition Directorate intends to purchase Hyper9 VEO Perpetual License per Host Socket and three years of maintenance. Hyper9, Inc is the sole developer and distributor of the aforementioned software and is the sole provider of support services for this product. I.Hyper9 Software provides the following unique capabilities. Hyper9, a.Contains executive reports “out of the box” that do not require any setup or configuration. b.Offers an easily configured dashboard that provides a snapshot of critical data. II.Configuration Control Features: a.Can compare VM configurations to a baseline to track differences b.Can compare VM configurations over time to track changes c.Can compare Host configurations to a baseline to track differences d.Can compare Host configurations over time to track changes e.Create configuration policy scans and automatically alert on violations III.Reporting, Trending and Cost Analysis (Chargeback) Features: a.Create ad hoc reports on any combination of VM, host, datastore, cluster, state, configuration, performance data include any combination of collected attributes that meet such criteria. b.Create reports on arbitrary criteria such as by department, VM ownership, business units, or applications. c.Trend on arbitrary defined metrics such as VM growth, or over provisioned space over time IV.Capacity Planning and Modeling Features: a.Ability to trend data across arbitrary criteria such as configuration information, department, business unit, vm owner or application. b.Ability to trend VM and Host resource utilization and forecast expiration of resources across clusters, resource pools, folders or other arbitrary groupings. c.Ability to base VM anticipated load on actual VM performance history for any amount of time d.Ability to profile VM usage along any axis, and understand how many VMs can fit, including an application aware perspective, such as Exchange, SQL Server, etc. e.What if analysis for adding additional Host Capacity or Fail Over scenarios V.Monitoring Features: a.Configurable data retention policies and rollups b.Metrics can be explored by custom groupings such as department, business unit or application c.Ability to create personalized or system wide monitors and alert responses via email, snmp, or Powershell d.Ability to define alerts by custom groupings such as department, business unit or application. e.Ability to identify storage I/O bottlenecks by monitoring latencies (total, host, SAN), including at the datastore level. f.Understand total storage I/O by datastore VI.Overall System Features: a.Fully integrated one product for configuration, performance, capacity and chargeback; no additional per module charge b.Leverages a Single Repository c.Pure Web Based Interface d.Dashboards - out of the box, representing best practices for storage, administration, management reporting, VM Sprawl, etc. e.Dashboards, easily modify existing, without the need for programming or extensive technical knowledge f.Dashboards - publish to portal or SharePoint for any user on the Intranet, without a Hyper9 account g.Dashboards - ability to model any dashboard to a particular stakeholder audience, whether that be a manager, CIO, line of Business Manager, Application Group, Operations, etc. for complete transparency into the virtual environment h.Ability to consume and add new dashboards, widgets, trends, reports, alerts, etc, via Hyper9 community without requiring product updates for new functionality i.Extensive collection of out of the box dashboards, widgets, trends, alerts, reports for instant value, that are easily extensible and modifiable j.Straightforward Installation k.Able to require no change to default Virtual Center logging statistics (level 1) whilst still capturing arbitrary granular metrics l.Powershell and Perl Interfaces APIs for getting data in and out, and extensible reporting. m.Can collect data with no agents n.Can collect data from inside the guest such as application, hotfix, service etc. o.Can collect data via SSH (from ESX hosts) for extended storage stats p.NFS, iSCSI and Fiber Channel Storage support for 3.5 or 4.x q.Active directory / LDAP integration r.Enterprise class, can scale to manage tens of thousands of VMs for multi-national companies This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by the response date and time specified above to the primary point of contact via email. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
