- RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The NASA DrydenFlight Research Center (DFRC) issued Task Order NND09GH20T to the Northrop GrummanCorporation (NGC) under existing Contract NND08GH01B for Global Hawk Engineering andTechnical Services. This task order is wholly funded under the American Recovery andReinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and as such is subject to all requirements imposed by thelegislation. <P>Task Order NND09GH20T provides engineering support for the integration of the Land,Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS) Instrument on the NASA Global Hawk. The instrumentshall utilize a government furnished instrument support structure (ISS) which utilizesthe design developed for mounting the Cloud Physics Lidar (CPL) instrument in Zone-3,nose mounted instrument bay, of the aircraft. This task covers the engineering analysisof the instrument-support structure and other general integration-related supportnecessary to accommodate the modifications of the ISS needed for the LVIS and themounting of the LVIS unique electronic enclosures.<P>The Global Hawk Engineering and Technical Support Contract NND08GH01B was awarded on anon-competitive basis. NGC is the only source available that has the engineering andtechnical expertise and knowledge in manufacturing, designing, and operating the GlobalHawk aircraft.As the manufacturer of the Global Hawk, NGC is the proprietary owner ofall the intellectual property for the Global Hawk and is uniquely familiar with theaircraft based on over 30,000 flight hours of experience.<P>
