Description
Please Note: This is the same synopsis that was listed under N00167-11-R-0003 (cancelled Oct. 20, 2010). The intended solicitation number is the only thing that changed. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to award a firm-fixed price (FFP) contract to provide for 500 Electronic Personal Dosimeter Training Devices (EPDTD) that will assimilate into the existing infrastructure of the Multi-Function RADIAC (Radiation, Detection, Indication and Computation) Training Device (MFRTD). The procurement will have a period of performance from the effective date of the purchase order through eight (8) months thereafter. The NAICS code is 334519. The proposed contract action is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Radiation Safety and Control Services, Inc. (RSCS). The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302. RSCS is the only manufacturer of the MFRTD that the EPDTD will be associated with and they have proprietary information with the MFRTD. RSCS has the necessary knowledge, expertise, equipment and design to manufacture the EPDTDs. A formal solicitation will be posted to this site in November 2010. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 22 November 2010 at 2 p.m. will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties may forward their capabilities statements to Lorri Loveland by e-mail at lorri.loveland@navy.mil or by fax at (301) 227-3476 on or before 22 November 2010.
