Description

The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, engineering, design, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and transportation, to perform all of the services described in the plans and specifications. The Navy intends to renovate the Senior Enlisted Academy at Naval Station Newport (NSN). This project is defined by three major work items: replacement of the failing EIFS exterior envelope, an HVAC overhaul that includes the addition of air conditioning for the top three floors and installation of fire protection systems. Major failures of the exterior envelope have occurred along with water intrusion. The HVAC renovation includes proper cooling and heating for the entire building. The addition of sprinklers, fire and smoke detectors and alarms to comply with current UFC and Code requirements is also programmed for this renovation. Bid options will be included to replace the roof, replace shower bases, replace branch circuit wiring, replace auditorium seating, reconfigure a room for ADA compliance, renovation of first floor bathrooms, resilient flooring on first floor, new sinks and low-flow toilets in student rooms (floors 2-4), and re-wiring of a first floor office for audiovisual capability.
