- Description
- The USGS currently has a contract for Oil and Gas Wells Database for a base and four one-year options with IHS Energy Group. This requirement is for updated data of oil and gas wells, reservoirs, and fields worldwide. Data is provided on CD ROM and in Oracle format, with retrieval, viewing and manipulation applications. Data is updated annually. There are over 3 million wells included in the databases. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the items specified as a sole source from IHS Energy Group, and proposes to exercise the first option year with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms that can provide the entire initial databases and a worldwide updating system (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement no later than November 5, 2010. An affirmative response would include a data inventory, literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation exists, requests for such documents without accompaning information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this action.
