Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-07-G-0008 to the Bell Boeing Joint Project Office, 401 Tiltrotor Drive, Amarillo, TX 79111 on a sole-source basis to address Dimisishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues. This effort includes the Non-Recurring Engineering of a SMART Inertial Electronics (IE) to replace the obsolete IE located within the Lightweight Inertial Navigation System (LWINS) system utilized in the MV/CV-22. Bell-Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the V-22 Tilt-Rotor Aircraft and is the only source that possesses the technical data and requisite knowledge and expertise required to perform this effort.
