Description
RECOVERY - PROJECT NUMBER P912, CONSTRUCT WATERFRONT STEAM PLAN, NS MAYPORT, FL, PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE, FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. Summary of Project Scope: This project will construct a steam generation plant for Naval Station Mayport which will be responsible for delivering steam to wharves Echo and Foxtrot. The plan consists of a 3,000 gsf building for the equipment including access doors for removal/replacement of equipment. The facility is designed with the capability to install future boilers/equipment as demand requirements dictate. Equipment included are two 10 million BTU per hour fuel consumption rate (approximately 235 BHP each) steam boilers capable of generating saturated steam at 150 psi. The boilers burn natural gas as the primary fuel with no. 2 fuel oil burned as the backup fuel. The project also includes a water filtration system that will purify the boiler feed water to UFC 4-150-02 standards for pH, conductivity, silica, hardness and suspended solids; a controls system to optimize efficiency of the system; operator control room; mechanical hookups; electrical utility hookups; and meters for water and steam to measure production and consumption of utilities. The project also includes installation of approximately 1,000 LF of steam piping needed to tie into the existing system at the south end of Echo Wharf. The steam piping will be installed primarily along the existing security fence with the exception of going overhead to cross vehicle access roads and underground to make the connection at the south end of Echo Wharf.
