Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N40442-11-T-7077, and it is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-45, effective 01 OCT 2010. NAICS code 333618 applies. The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is applicable. This is a small business set-aside. Military Sealift Fleet Support Command (MSFSC), Norfolk, VA intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order for USNS Comfort for the following parts and service: The requested period of performance for the above service is 10 November 2010 - 30 November 2010. 1. Statement of Work: Provide the services of an authorized WOODWARD GOVERNOR repair firm to test, adjust, inspect and calibrate three (3) ADG UG 40 DC Governors. Ships Force shall tag out all systems electrically and mechanically. Upon completion of work s/f shall remove tags. Temporarily remove all interferences including but not limited to ducting, hangers, lighting fixtures, piping and cables to gain access to the work area. Remove each governor, servo motor boosters, linkage and other hardware from NR's 1, 2 and 3 ADG. Transport each unit to repair shop. Completely teardowns, clean, inspect and service all components. Free up all linkage. Replace all consumable parts. Turn over and condition found report to the port engineer detailing any discrepancies found and recommendations for repair. All additional work and/or parts will be covered by a change order. Upon completion of all repairs, adjust and calibrate each unit on a test bench. Provide the port engineer with an as released report and certificate (if any). Transport each unit to the ship and re install on their respective engines. Test run each engine (with s/f assistance) to make final adjustments under load while running alone or load sharing conditions.
