Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to modify Contract N68335-06-D-0004 to procure, on a sole source basis, 25 each Radiation Hazard Probe P/N 8717-1174R-08, and 25 each Rack Mounted Radiation Monitor P/N B8722D. This procurement action is necessary to preclude the risk of obsolescence issues. Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training and Support designed and developed the Operational Test Progam Sets (OTPS) that utilize this equipment and provides maintenance and repair services under the referenced contract. Lockheed Martin STS is the designer, developer and orginal equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the OTPSs that require these supplies, and is the only known source to have sufficient technical data and trained technical staff to maintain the OTPS's. The authority for this sole source action is FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this synopsis is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for proposals; however, all responses to this notice must be received within 15 days.
