- The VA Medical Center located in Asheville, North Carolina, has a requirement for a contractor to furnish all EMS Professionals and equipment to provide emergent and non-emergent, basic and advanced life support ambulance service, twenty-four (24) hours per day, three hundred sixty-five days per year to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805. The VAMC Asheville, NC area of coverage ( catchment area ) includes the following VISN 6 locations: VAMC Beckley West Virginia, VAMC Durham North Carolina, VAMC Hampton Virginia, VAMC Fayetteville North Carolina, VAMC Richmond Virginia, VAMC Salem Virginia, VAMC Salisbury North Carolina and whenever required, outside of the VISN. The NAICS code for this requirement is 621910. Size standard is $7.0 Million. Contract performance is Date of Award through September 30, 2011, with two (2) one year optional Periods. Due Date: 19 November 2010, 4:00 pm, est. time. Failure to submit a complete proposal may result in the proposal being deemed unresponsive. The offer determined to be the Best Value to the Government will be accepted. The Government will award a contract order to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the requirements in this request for proposal will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. It is the VA s intent to solicit offers and award one contract on a competitive basis. Solicitation will be posted on or about 5 November 2010. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: Offerors should submit all technical questions regarding this solicitation to the Contracting Officer in writing on or before November 10, 2010 by 3:00 p.m. estern time. No questions will be accepted after November 10 2010. Questions may be sent via e-mail to kathryn.avent-ortega@va.gov. Telephonic (verbal) questions will not be addressed. All responses to questions, which may affect offers, will be incorporated into a written amendment to the solicitation and released via the Federal Business Opportunities System website (www.fedbizopps.gov).
