- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. UNRESTRICTED. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for a contractor to dry-dock and repair the Dredge Wheeler, an all steel, diesel propelled, sea-going, trailing suction hopper dredge. Length overall 408 feet, 3 inches; maximum breadth82 feet, 0 inches; minimum draft Aft21 feet, 6 inches; minimum draft forward17 feet, 6 inches; lightship displacement9,876.25 long tons. Facilities must be available on or about 22 November 2010. Request for Proposals shall be limited to those shipyards in the United States within 1600 nautical miles of the sea buoy at Southwest Pass, Mississippi River. Solicitation W912P8-11-R-0007 is being issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) and will be available on or about 9 November 2010. Proposals will be due on 19 November 2010 at11:00am CST. Prospective offerors are encouraged to examine the vessel prior to submitting a proposal. This requirement will be procured as firm fixed price under FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. A Master Ship Repair Agreement must be in place or executed prior to award. The RFP and all information pertaining to this acquisition will be made available electronically through the Federal Business Opportunities electronic posting system web link at http://www.fbo.gov It is and will continue to be all potential offerors, responsibility to monitor the fedbizopps website for any amendments updates bidders library, responses to questions and answers as the government will not be maintaining a mailing list. It is incumbent upon all potential offerors to download from the fedbizopps website.
