Description
Notice of Intent for Sole Source The Southern Regional Contracting Office, Brooke Army Medical Center intends to award a sole source contract to the CYTYC Corporation for the purchase of the Fetal Fibronectin Enzyme Immunoassay and Rapid fFN for the TLi IQ System currently required in support of Darnall Army Community Hospital, Fort Hood, TX. Clinical research indicates that the fetal fibronectin test is the top predictor of preterm births. Preterm delivery, which occurs in approximately 10% of live births, is one of the leading causes of perinatal morbidity and mortality, with healthcare costs exceeding $5 billion annually. Concerns for the health and well being of the mother and infant as well as the economic implications (i.e. hospitalization, use of drug therapy and subsequent medical care following delivery) make the diagnosis and management of preterm delivery one of the most challenging problems in obstetrics. The Fetal Fibronectin test is used to identify the risk of preterm birth in three categories: women experiencing signs and symptoms for preterm delivery, high-risk pregnancies, and low-risk pregnancies. The Fetal Fibronectin Test, must include consumables, controls, calibrators, training, maintenance, and technical support. The TLi IQ System provides optimal performance and enables Darnall Army Community Hospital to maintain and continue to provide superior healthcare services to the warfighter and patients. Award will be made on or about 29 Nov 2010, contract period of performance will be from 1Jan 2011 through 30 Sep 2011. NOTE: INTERESTED VENDORS, MAY RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE ON OR BEFORE 22 NOV 10, 1:00PM, CST. THIS NOTICE IS NEITHER A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR A SOLICITATION OF OFFERS.
