Description
This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC), Fisheries Ecology Division (FED) on a sole source basis from Vemco Amirix. The government intends to acquire services using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed vendor will provide eight (17) VR2W Coded Acoustic Receiver/Data Loggers (69KHz) with Bluetooth Code Map-112, and one (1) VR2WPC - PC Bluetooth Interface and VUE PC Software, including Bluetooth USB adapter and two VR2W activation probes. Vemco Amirix was identified by program office as the only source that can meet the technical requirement of this procurement because these sensors must be compatible with acoustic loggers and tags currently in use. No other known vendor can provide sensors that are proven to be compatible. The government intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract with a delivery date of no later than December 31, 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can provide equipment that fully meets the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation, such as the specifications of your product, in writing to the identified point of contact within 10 days after the publication of this notice. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
