- Project 568-CSI-001, Fixed MRI Site Preparation Construction - This project will construct a facility for a new fixed MRI scanner at the VA medical center at Fort Meade, SD. The MRI scanner and related components will be owner furnished, and installed by the scanner supplier. The new facility will be approximately 2,400 square feet in size, and includes the scan room, control room, computer/equipment room, waiting rooms and various service areas. Work will include demolition of an existing docking facility currently used for a mobile scanner, as well as relocation, modification and extension of site utilities and improvements. Construction work includes general construction, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems. The project performance period is 270 days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Solicitation documents will be made available in electronic format only at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is recommended that you register on the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. This procurement is set-aside 100% for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be verified in VetBiz; http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, and registered in the Central Contractors Registry (CCR); http://www.ccr.gov, and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA); https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Technical and Cost Proposals will be accepted from responsible and responsive contractors only. The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS code 236220, size standard $33.5 million. Bid Bond will be required in the amount of 20% of bid, and Performance and Payment Bonds will be required upon award of contract. The magnitude of this procurement is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The Solicitation along with the specifications and drawings will be uploaded to this site on or about December 10, 2010. Amendments, if issued, will be posted on this site as well and are required to be acknowledged by all bidders submitting a proposal.
