Description

Intent to Sole Source: The Department of the Treasury's Bureau of the Public Debt (BPD), on behalf of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), intends to negotiate a sole-source procurement with Agilent Technologies, Inc. for a Service Contract for existing Agilent equipment located in the Beltsville, Maryland and Walnut Creek, California labs. The Government intends to award a contract for a base period of one year and two option years. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau's Labs had previously acquired the Agilent instrument systems and now have a requirement for a service contract to maintain these systems. A sole source to Agilent Technologies, Inc. is intended for this order, based on the fact that Agilent is the sole supplier of Agilent's Proprietary software updates and hardware components for these sophisticated systems. Agilent also has the authorized technical staff with the familiarity, expertise and capability of repairing and servicing the current Agilent analytical equipment systems. A request for more information will not be considered an affirmative response. No solicitation document is available. If no affirmative written response is received, that clearly demonstrates the ability to meet all the requirements, and that is more advantageous to the Government, we intend to negotiate a sole-source award to Agilent Technologies, Inc. Telephone inquires will not be accepted.
