- RECOVERY - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued Task Order Number DTFH61-09-F-00061 and Modification Numbers 1 and 2 to Task Order Number DTFH61-09-F-00061 in 2009 to provide for cellular telephones and corresponding cellular telephone service. FHWA awarded the cellular telephone service part of the purchase under the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule Contract Number GS-35F-0119P, and Verizon Wireless provided the telephones to FHWA as open market items at no additional cost to FHWA. FHWA awarded this task order to Verizon Wireless as a fixed price task order under a sole source, non-competitive process. This is a sole source action because Verizon Wireless is FHWA's current and only cellular phone service provider able to deliver comprehensive cellular phone service necessary to meet the needs of FHWA. This posting is to provide notice FHWA and Verizon Wireless enter into a third modification to: (1) obligate additional funding in the amount of $8,199.36; and (2) extend the period of performance to March 31, 2011.
