- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N40442-11-T-7065, and it is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-45, effective 01 OCT 2010. NAICS code 811310 applies. The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is not applicable. This is not a small business set-aside. Military Sealift Fleet Support Command (MSFSC), Norfolk, VA intends to award a firm fixed price sole source purchase order to Foster Wheeler North America Corp. for USNS Comfort for the following services: The requested period of performance for the above service is 8 November 2010 - 10 December 2010. 1. Statement of Work: Provide the services of a field service engineer (FSE) to oversee tube installation on the port propulsion boiler. Contractor shall bring with him any documentation on these boilers that will assist him in the performance of this work. The FSE shall communicate daily with the port engineer as to progress being made, any recommendation on the ongoing repair and any other information deemed necessary for a successful installation. Contractor should be present prior to tube sheet preps and 1st week of tube installation. Then back again for last week of installation and hydro.
