Description
The purpose of the Industry Day is to provide construction industry representatives with information regarding the Middle East District, USACE, intent to advertise and solicit for the potential four hundred million-dollar USACE Construction and Design-Build projects in Egypt to be awarded in calendar year 2011. The projects to be discussed during the Industry Day are: Base Facility Requirements, Apache Helicopter Procurement Program, Kattamia Air Base, Egypt (W912ER-11-R-0003); Pacer Forge IV, Various Locations Egypt (W912ER-11-R-0025); and Peace Vector VII, Cairo West Air Base, Egypt (W912ER-11-R-0048). During the session, the Government will provide an overview of the three projects and will offer presentations on specialized foreign and contingency acquisition rules, small business opportunities, and potential workload under the MATOC. Attendees will also be able to ask the Government's representatives questions about the projects and presentations. Synopsis: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East District would like to invite eligible contractors to an Industry Day on 11 January 2011, starting at 9:30 am until 12:30 pm, at the Cairo Marriott Zamalek Hotel, located at 16 Saray, El Gezira Street, Cairo, 11211 Egypt. ELIGIBLE CONTRACTORS WILL BE LIMITED TO: (1) U.S. firms, or (2) Joint Ventures of U.S. and Egyptian firms. To be considered a U.S. firm, the firm must be incorporated and have had its corporate headquarters in the U.S. for a minimum of three years; shall have filed state and federal income declarations for a minimum of three corporate years within the preceding four-year period, having paid any applicable taxes determined to be due as a result of such filing; and employ U.S. citizens in key management positions. To be considered an Egyptian firm, the firm must have a minimum of 51 percent Egyptian ownership and must be an independently-owned firm. Egyptian firms which are partially or wholly-owned by or otherwise affiliated with the Government of Egypt or its agencies are ineligible. All qualified firms may express and interest in this project. This event is open to the public and is not restricted to those currently under contract with the Army Corps of Engineers, however, is limited to eligible U.S. and Egyptian firms as stated above. The Industry Day is limited to three representatives per company. All interested attendees must pre-register by email to both Ms. Alicia N. Weber at Alicia.N.Weber@usace.army.mil AND Ms. Deborah Brown at Deborah.A.Brown@usace.army.mil with the following subject line-RSVP Egypt Industry Day -by 5:00 PM, 21 December 2010. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Registration must include names of attendees, company name and address, DUNS number, day time telephone number and email address. This is a no-fee event and seating is limited. Check-in for the event will be from 8:30 - 9:30 am in the lobby just outside of the conference room. The Government will not be conducting one-on-one discussions during this event. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a forum to discuss upcoming work, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. MED will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses for marketing efforts.
