- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT TO HILL-ROM COMPANY The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health Care System (NF/SG VHS) intends to negotiate and procure 48 Hill-Rom Harbor Glen Platform Beds with foot end drawers. These beds will be procured from the Hill-Rom Company, located at 1069 State Route 46 East, Batesville, IN 47006. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 339113. Salient features of the Harbor Glen Platform Beds include: all hardware is tamper-resistant, requiring a special tool to unfasten; ten concealed, restraint strap holders: two at the head section, two at the foot section, and three on each side; all corners are rounded for safety; steel bed frame and surface designed for durability and longevity, and all sections are modular and can be replaced on location; floor glides are adjustable; solid hardwood drawer, measuring approximately 6" H x 23" W x 34" D, and can support 250 lbs of weight; can accommodate up to a Stage Two pressure ulcer; sleep Surface has antibacterial foam core mattress designed for 24-hour institutional use, and can be cleaned at point of care; bed Dimensions: 15.5"H x 37.5" W x 81.5" D. The Government intends to issue an award for this requirement on a Sole Source Basis, per FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), wherein "the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source." NF/SG VHS currently utilizes the Harbor Glen Platform Bed in its facilities, and is expanding the number of units to accommodate increased patient demand. Additionally, Hill-Rom is the sole provider of this item, and does not distribute it through third parties. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation of the above mentioned items, which shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must submit one of the aforementioned documents within 5 calendar days after the publication of this notice. Submission of capability statement, proposal, or quote shall be made via email, to Jonathan Latson at jonathan.latson@va.gov. All responses received will be evaluated. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement, based upon the responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement from Hill-Rom Company. Costs associated with the preparation and submission of information and any follow-up information requests are the responsibility of the offeror, and these costs will not be reimbursed by the Government.
