- Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Minntech Corporation for the purchase of the Hemodialysis Components for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, IL. The specific components needed for this requirement must comply with the standards set on the Fresnius USA, Inc., Model 2008K for patient treatment. The components must meet the formula requirements set below. a.Liquid Acid Proportioning Component ( A SOLUTION) i.Sodium mEq/L =143 ii.Calcium mEq/L = 3.00n iii.Potassium mEq/L = 2.00 iv.Sodium mEq/L = 1.00 v.Chloride mEq/L = 110.00 vi.Acetate mEq/L = 4.50 vii.Dextrose mEq/L = 200 viii.Bicarbonate mEq/L = 34.50 b.Liquid Bicarbonate Carbonate Component (B SOLUTION) Additionally, the contractor must make weekly deliveries of the components in the amount of 144 cases (Solution A) and 288 cases (Solution B) per week respectively. Deliveries will be made DOB destination to the Jesse Brown loading dock located at 820 South Damen; Chicago, IL, 60612. Quantity requirements for the components may increase or decrease based on patient need. This requirement is for an eight week period of performance. This announcement is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can only be satisfied by services available from one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other entities may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by December 7, 2010 by 2:00 PM CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interests received on or before December 7, 2010 will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored.
