Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command, JM&L Contracting Center, on behalf of the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ are currently seeking sources capable of performing a follow-on effort to further develop and finalize an ultrasonic melt cast analyzer and defect detection device. Finalized device shall be explosion proof, meet safety requirements for the melt cast facility, and be able to withstand the operational conditions for melt cast production. Finalized device will accommodate a 120mm mortar shell. Melt cast analyzer also requires operational software and interface equipment to control and monitor the cooling process. Installation, test runs, and debugging of the device will take place at the Picatinny Arsenal ARDEC melt cast facility. Fully installed and operational device will detect various defects which must include at least base-side gap defects, settling, solidification fronts, and voids. Training of melt cast operators and facility personnel is required. All interested parties that believe they can meet the above requirements should provide data showing their technical capabilities. Responses should include current business structure: (a) name of company to include company point of contact, technical point of contact, company address, telephone numbers (voice and fax), email address; (b) company size (i.e. large, foreign, small disadvantaged, veteran owned, veteran own, etc). A respondent to this survey should be able to show adequate technical and manufacturing capability (i.e. manpower, facilities, and any relevant automation).
