Description
Manufacture of the 57mm Dummy Cartridge This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government from an ultimate acquisition approach. This synopsis should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division, Picatinny Detachment Office, Picatinny Arsenal, is seeking potential sources who are interested in the manufacture of the 57mm Dummy Cartridge. The manufacture of these cartridges includes all components and Load, Assemble and Pack (LAP). This office is also interested in contractor test capabilities for conducting qualification, first article, and lot acceptance testing of this cartridge. The cartridge shall be completely inert and designed to feed and cycle through the 57mm MK 110 MOD 0 Gun Mount. The cartridge is intended to be used for crew training purposes. The fixed cartridge shall consist of an inert projectile, and a cartridge case with inert fill. The cartridge shall approximate the profile, weight, and center of mass of 57mm Target Practice and High Explosive Fuzed cartridges. The cartridges shall be clipped together with the MK 8 Clip and packed 2 to a container in the MK806 container. As a minimum, responders must address: - Summary of Technical Capabilities. - Description of Facilities, Personnel, and Manufacturing/Testing Capabilities and Experience. - Safety information. - Minimum production quantity and Maximum yearly production - Past performance manufacturing the requested item or similar items. - Facility safety clearance. - Business size designation; large, small or other. All interested sources shall also provide the organization name, address, a point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number,and CAGE Code.
