The Contractor will develop the historic context and documentation. The historical analysis will identify the theme, time period, and geographic limits for the historic context. It will summarize and synthesize existing information on the history of ranger boat use by the Forest Service in Alaska. It will identify and provide a summary discussion of the variety and types of vessels used by the Forest Service in Alaska, with particular attention to the existing ranger boats in use (or presently in storage) today, and which may be of historic significance. The historic context will provide sufficient documentation to serve as the basis for the Statement of Significance for any National Register of Historic Places evaluations and/or nominations dealing with ranger boats.
