Description
Recovery Task Orders 1 through 9 under Contract NNG09CP09CThis posting is being provided for information purposes only. NASA Goddard Space FlightCenter has selected Fibertek Inc for the following tasks identified below for the LaserSystems Engineering Services (LSES) contract, NNG09CP09C. These task orders utilizedAmerican Reinvestment and Recovery Act funds. The basic contract was a competitivelyawarded as a cost-plus award fee, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract(CPAF/IDIQ) contract. While the Recovery Act and all associated guidance express a clearpreference for award of fixed price actions, placement of a task under this CPAF contractwas determined appropriate for the proposed work. CPAF was determined appropriatebecause the contract is for new, state-of-the art development of instruments.Theproposed work cannot be performed on a fixed price basis due to potential variabilityinherent in the nature of R&D effort. In addition, a cost-type contract provides theflexibility required to accommodate changes in program requirements which may occurduring performance. This is an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity Cost-Plus Award Fee contract valued at$35 million. The period of performance is five years. The NAICS Code is 336419 and theSize Standard is 1,000 employees.
