- THIS IS AN INFORMATIONAL NOTICE ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE PROGRAM SUPPORT CENTER (PSC) TASK ORDERS. The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) is seeking contractor that will foster and sustain an open external community of practice for developers of health IT and to create a methodology for that community to facilitate solutions to a vast array of issues and challenges representing major barriers to the rapid and widespread achievement of the meaningful use of health IT. The contractor will also provide ONC with an infrastructure to facilitate competitive innovation and obtain highly creative solutions to important health IT problems through carefully organized and coordinated competitions. The contractor will support ONC in the development, review, vetting, and launch of innovation competitions; assume responsibility for end-to-end conduct of the competition process; and the foster an ecosystem to encourage sustained innovation. ONC seeks to initiate competitions for ideas and solutions in key focus areas such as health information exchange, decision support, system usability and safety, analytical tool development, data visualization, and other areas as defined. The contractor will launch and support open competitions for the delivery of innovative solutions to target problems in these key focus areas and, secondarily, support health IT innovation through private sector engagement and community building.
