Description
J&A The purpose of this extension is to provide multi-functional CONUS Support Base Services (CSBS) in support of Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. This is a request for an additional one month extension to the 4th option year of the current contract. The justification for this request is as follows. On 1 August 2009, Ft. McCoy submitted all required contracting documentation to initiate a new CSBS Contract for a base year and four option years with a start date of 1 July, 2010, however the decision has been made recently by 1st Army for Ft. McCoy mission change starting approximately 1 October 2011. This status change negates the need for a new 5 year CSBS contract. An additional one month extension to the current 5 month contract extension is required for an uninterrupted flow of MOB related work in support of the Ft McCoy Installation Commanders MOB mission and to allow time for MICC to complete a revised plan to support the future requirement. Due to the short suspense it would be impossible to source a substitute work force to support the continuous MOB mission at Ft McCoy. It would also be impossible to support this requirement with the current Ft McCoy government staff. Any attempt to implement a temporary replacement contractor for one month would result in additional and unnecessary costs to the government.
