Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N40442-11-T-7153, and it is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-46, effective 29 OCT 2010. NAICS code 332312 applies. The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is applicable. This is not a small business set-aside. Military Sealift Fleet Support Command (MSFSC), Norfolk, VA intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order for USNS MERCY for the following services: The requested period of performance for the above service is 05 DECEMBER-15 DECEMBER 2010. STATEMENT OF WORK: Provide services of a qualified marine repair firm specialized in shipboard maintenance and repair for Various Fire Screen Door Repairs. NOTE: THIS IS A USCG REQUIREMENT A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, hardware, staging and tools to accomplish this work. Ship's tools shall not be used during this work. 2. Clean, prepare, prime and paint all disturbed surfaces to match. If required paint will be provided as GFM. 3. Repair and replace with new as necessary all disturbed insulation. 4. Contractors are encouraged to conduct a shipcheck prior to submit their bids. 5. All material and welding procedures to be used during this work shall conform to ABS and USCG regulations. B. STATEMENT OF WORK: 1. Erect a safe staging to facilitate the work if required on both side of the bulkheads and take down when all work completed. 2. Remove all hardware and doors and inspect door and door frame structural integrety, hinges and pins, hydraulic equipment, levers and arms. Free up all moving parts. Repair as needed. 3. Fit the doors on to their respective frames. 4. Conduct an optest with ship's force to prove all doors operate properly. 5. Doors with apperent problems listed in next paragraph. C.
