- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION for C-130H Segment II (A1U) Electronic Flight Display System (EFDS) units This is not a request for proposals. This is a request for information only and no contract will be awarded based on responses to this announcement. The US Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking information on small businesses that manufacture Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) Electronic Flight Display System (EFDS) units that will operate in the USCG HC-130H Avionics I Upgrade (A1U) Project. The EFDS must be readily available and certifiable for installation and integration into commercial and military aircraft. The USCG is not searching for C-130 system software integrators at this time. The NAICS is 334511 and the applicable Small business size standard is 750 employees. BACKGROUND: The USCG HC-130H long range surveillance maritime patrol aircraft is undergoing a series of upgrades to enable the continued effective and safe operation of the HC-130H through the year 2027. The A1U architecture will integrate and manage different hardware/ software systems & equipment, most of which have not been previously employed in the HC-130H. The Flight Management System (FMS) will use the CDU-7000 (proven successful for Navy, USCG, and Army avionics upgrade projects) to control all data and information flow to and from the EFDS components. The EFDS subsystems will contain digital "glass cockpit" integrated flat panel displays (aka multifunction displays), their data processors, a Caution Warning & Advisory Panel (CWAP), an Electronic Chart Server, associated Display Control Panels (DCPs) and Hand Controllers. INFORMATION REQUESTED: The USCG is seeking information from any small business Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that manufactures a COTS EDFS that fits into and works with the current A1U design and HC-130H legacy systems. The EFDS must readily accommodate the existing physical, functional, and information processing and display requirements for the A1U system and its discrete subsystems. This shall include applicable CNS/ATM exhibition and other performance requirements of the EFDS such as: -Display of Required Navigation Performance for Area Navigation (RNP RNAV) data - Display of required Barometric Vertical Navigation (Baro VNAV) data - Display of communication radio data - Display of dual Embedded GPS/INS (EGI) data - Display of dual ARN-118 TACAN, dual ARN-123 VOR, ARN-149, and DF-430 data - Control and display of digital map - Control and display of electronic chart data - Display of Terrain Avoidance & Warning System (TAWS) data - Display of Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) data - Display of flight director data - Display of Streaming Video - A Host for the Electronic Charts - A Stand Alone Caution Warning & Advisory Panel - Display Control Panels and Hand controllers Replies: The responses should include cage code and CCR small business self certification for NAIC 334511 along with product information for EFDS units being manufactured.
