Description

Baxter (peritoneal dialysis) The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Baxter Renal, 1620 Waukegan Road, McGaw Park, IL, 60085, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1; for the purchase all necessary accessories and supplies for the Baxter HomeChoice peritoneal dialysis system. The HomeChoice System and supporting components are in use at the VAPHS UD facility, and also have been prescribed by physician for home use by certain selected veteran patients who are currently waiting for transplant or other alternative treatment. The standardization of this dialysis equipment and corresponding supplies and accessories is clinically and logistically required, since it is used on site for treatment, backup and patient training, as well as in home. This notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet this sole source requirement by contacting the Contracting Office no later than Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 4:30 p.m. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Paula Stankovic at paula.stankovic@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. It is the Government's belief that at this time, only one source is capable of providing these dedicated, proprietary accessories and supplies in order to satisfy VAPHS' requirements. VAPHS will consider any and all interest & capability statements received, however, the final determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement is solely within its discretion.
