- Description
- The USAF can meet its minimum needs only by procuring Avibank Mfg. Inc. high tolerance pins used in support of F-15 stab test stands. Only Avibank Mfg. Inc. high tolerance pins are compatible with existing system components used in F-15 stab test stands AUTHORITY: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), JUSTIFICATION: SUPPLIES REQUIRED ARE FROM ONLY ONE OR A LIMITED NUMBER OF RESPONSIBLE SOURCE(S) AND NO OTHER TYPE OF SUPPLIES WILL SATISFY AGENCY REQUIREMENTS. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR Part 13. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to the closing date on the solicitation will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Specification, plans, or drawing relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the government. The government does not own the data or rights to the data needed to purchase the item from additional sources. The Government intends to issue a sole source contract. The contractor (Avibank) will provide (20) High Tolerance Pins of various specifications, Contracting by Negotiation. The solicitation will posted at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ under solicitation number FA8224-11-T-0025 on or around January 6, 2011. This requirement is considered sole source due to the fact the Pin drawings are all proprietary to Avibank Inc. and the F-15 Test Stands cannot perform according to Technical Order without these pins. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and all other interested contractors shall submit a capabilities document which states their abilities on fulfilling this requirement. Responses should be submitted by 10:00 am MST on January 12.
