THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT IS A MARKET SURVEY FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT OR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIALLY QUALIFIED SOURCES. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION, AS ONE DOES NOT EXIST. Synopsis: The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific Procurement Division is conducting market research for the following requirement in DoDEA Schools located in South Korea: Full service daily transportation in support of Camp Casey, Seoul, Osan, Humphreys, and Daegu. Monday through Friday, beginning in August and ending in June. Passengers will include pre-school through twelfth (12) grade students. No service will be required on school holidays, regularly scheduled school vacations, or when schools are closed due to inclement weather. School is in session during the period August through June. Service should include contractor furnished commuting/fleet management, general bus requirements, bus safety equipment, route management, drivers and Student Transportation Office support. Requirements: A minimum of twelve (12) and a maximum of one hundred and twenty seven (127), forty four (44) passenger buses equipped with On-Board-Vehicle Surveillance System (OBVSS) and Auto Vehicle Locator (AVL). The Government would require access to OBVSS and AVL. If buses are not equipped, grant government access to install mentioned equipment. Require seatbelts with stationary retractor mounted in frame of seat as opposed to loose retractor where children can catch their fingers inside. Buses are to be no older than four (4) years of age. Buses should meet all maintenance and safety standards of host country. Bus seats should not be soiled and bus should not be filled with the smell of tobacco products. Government will be afforded opportunity to see buses in the vendor's fleet. Vendor must have the capability of providing smaller buses (24 passenger), 9-12 passenger vans, and wheel chair lift vehicles. School buses are primarily for the transportation of students to, from and between schools. School buses may be used in the instruction program and for school-related activities. Regular, special education or standby buses may be utilized for field trips, when available. Transportation for special education students on special education buses (air conditioning), minimum size 20-passenger, designed for a minimum of 3 wheel-chairs, to and from on-post schools. Transport to various housing areas on post and/or to school as scheduled. Furnish one (1) each safety attendant to ride Special Ed buses and buses transporting Sure Start to 1 st Grade. Special Needs Services: Provide daily transportation physically or mentally disabled students and other authorized individuals to and from include daily commute, Special Ed, and activity bus support. Unscheduled/Other Transportation Support Services: - Provide transport of students and other authorized individuals as required. - Service requirements shall include field trips, special activities, and sports events. - Provide transportation for School Academics Activities and for student School Related Sports. Responses to this notice shall include the following: 1. Company name and address, e-mail address, phone, and fax number. 2. A statement of interest that meets all the requirements listed above; 3. Contractor's capabilities on meeting the different types of transportation mentioned above to include surveillance system and auto vehicle locator.
