Description
The Army Contracting Command Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command, on behalf of the US ARMY ARDEC, Picatinny, NJ is seeking product information on a miniature, ruggedized incremental optical encoder. The encoder should provide a minimum of 50 pulses per 360 degree rotation. It should provide a quadrature output so that rotational direction may be extracted. Output levels should be at 3.3V or 5V logic levels. Conversion from raw encoder data to logic data may be accomplished with integral electronics, or with a separate chip. Data output may be either two pulse streams (Up and Down), or a pulse stream and a separate output whose logic level represents the data direction (again, Up or Down). The encoder must also meet US military extreme environmental and operational safety requirements. Specifically, the encoder must survive shocks transverse to the shaft of up to 500G for 0.7mS., and meet a minimum temperature range of -20 degrees C to +80 degrees C. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers. All data should be sent at no cost to the US Government by December 8, 2010 to the US Army ARDEC. ATTN: Philip Johnson Bldg 10 Picatinny, NJ 07866-5000, email: philip.j.johnson2@us.army.mil. In addition, please provide the firms name and address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, and size of business (small/large). The Government will ONLY accept written questions by email. This is a market survey to be used for informational planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is the Government obligated to issue an RFP. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
