- Provide all necessary architectural and engineering services required to prepare complete contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates, including services throughout construction for Project No. 626-11-101, Renovate Research Lab Phase 3 at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, VA Medical Center, 1310 24th Ave., S., Nashville, TN 37212. Work includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and industrial hygiene. Work involves renovation of approximately 13,300 GSF (11,500 SF actual labs) on the3rd floor of the ACRE Building. Small individual labs will be reconfigured according to modern BL-2 design philosophies in an open concept. Work will include creation of additional storage, replacement of deteriorated chemical tops, replace of T-12 and T-8 lighting with T-5, additional emergency outlets, replacement of exhaust fans and hood fans, replacement of existing ductwork to meet current VA HVAC design guidelines and replacement of VCT floors with monolithic, seamless, chemical resistant vinyl flooring and integral coved base. The construction cost range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Area of consideration is limited to a 250 mile radius of the VA Medical Center, Murfreesboro, TN. The NAICS code is 541310 and the size standard is $4.5 million. This procurement is 100% set-aside to small business firms. The selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for performance of required services; 2) specialized experience and technical competence of the A/E firm with similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with Government agencies; 4) Location of A/E firm; 5) experience and roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control and estimating effectiveness; (7) Veteran owned business status. Contract award is subject to availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal. Firms desiring consideration must submit two copies of SF 330 not later than 4:30 p.m. CST on February 10, 2011.
