Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Intavis, Inc., Chicago, IL 60657 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for an InsituPro VSi System consisting of the following components: #14.000 InsituPro VSi Base Unit (1 ea); #14.300 Work area kit for 60 small specimens (1 ea); #14.900 Option work area kit for 60 slides (1 ea); #2.500 Laptop computer with Windows XP (1 ea); #12.340 Small incubation baskets, 100/pack (2 ea); #35.202 2ml probe tubes, 500 pack (1 ea); #14.200 Reagent bottle set (1 ea); #12.100 Pipetting needle complete (1 ea); #12.110 Pipetting needle for slide module (1 ea); #12.940 Counter slides, 72/pack (1 ea); Shipping/Handling; Installation/Training, and a one (1) year warranty. This system is required for fully automated in situ hybridization and immunocytochemistry with the ability to perform both in one single set-up. This system is capable of both ISH and IHC with tissue on slides and on whole mount specimens. This system will enable the lab to perform a high throughput screening of novel genes in the biological process. This system also uses a patented approach of staining whole embryos within basket vessels where the solutions are added and removed indirectly for delicate specimens. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Intavis, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
