Description
This requirement is for Medical Waste Sterilizer/Compactor for the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Richmond Virginia. Request vendor to provide material, labor and installation for a complete and ready for operation system. System can be brand name or equal but need to meet the requirements of the hospital. - Sterilizer must use existing steam source to process waste and meet all government and state requirements for sterilization of medical waste. - Equipment must use existing electrical utilities as well as phone line to master controller. - Equipment shall manage both medical and solid waste with an integrated high-denisty compactor. - Equipment shall fit into the footprint of the existing treatment system and mate with waste container on site and utilize drainage areas to a sanitary sewer at pad site and be able to compact waste after processing to a closed 42 yard container. - Equipment shall be dual-sterilization chambered system. - Unit must be user friendly and be of a nature that is familiar to the waste handling team in its processing nature and waste disposal. - Unit should be of quite nature will in operation as it is adjacent to patient care areas. - Complete operation (loading, sterilization, discharge) should be automated/touch-free with pivoting chambers. - Supplier should have experience in installation, maintanence and training of hospital waste treatment systems. - Supplier should provide factory/certification for hospital staff.
