Description
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking technical specifications and associated pricing information on the current commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and the future potential TSA standardized products on the self adhesive pressure sensitive tamper evident tape (TETape) used by industry to secure cargo by participants of TSA’s Certified Cargo Security Program (CCSP). The purpose of this RFI is to gather information from all available sources manufacturing TETape. The information sought will assist the Agency in determining if there are multiple manufacturers capable of providing products that could meet possible future TSA TETape Standard and assess any financial impacts associated with such a Standard. To all manufacturers of self adhesive pressure sensitive tamper evident tape (TETape), The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking technical specifications and associated pricing information on the current commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and the future potential TSA standardized products on the TETape used by industry to secure cargo by participants of TSA's Certified Cargo Security Program (CCSP). TSA Air Cargo is requesting industry response regarding the above information through a Request for Information (RFI) released through public announcement at the FedBizOpps website, https://www.FedBizOpps.gov. The purpose of the RFI is to gather information from all available sources manufacturing TETape. The information sought will assist the Agency in determining if there are multiple manufacturers capable of providing TETape products that could meet possible future TSA TETape Standard and assess any financial impacts associated with such a Standard. Manufacturers of the TETape are encouraged to provide information identifying technical specifications and associated costs in the attached template or a separate documentation (i.e. product brochure). All responses to this RFI should be submitted electronically via email to Venita Mathias, TSA Contracting Specialist, at Venita.Mathias@dhs.gov no later than fifteen [15] business days from the close date of this RFI (not including the posting date). The latest receipt time stamp via e-mail being at the close of business [COB] on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 3:00 PM EST. TSA's goal is to provide security for the nation's transportation system to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce. TSA Air Cargo has developed strong working partnerships with the air cargo industry and would like to express continued appreciation for industry inputs and information.
