- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS / REQUEST FOR INFORMATION F-16 HUD This F-16 HUD (Head Up Display) announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis/Request for Information in order to procure new Electronic Module Assemblies, NSN: 5975-01-576-1361WF and 5975-01-577-5206WF to repair and upgrade the F-16 Head Up Display (HUD) and Pilot Display Unit (PDU), NSN: 1270-01-462-3959WF to 1270-01-575-6660WF, NSN: 1270-01-462-3962WF to 1270-01-578-6660WF, NSN: 1270-01-462-3962WF to 1270-01-578-2403WF, and NSN: 1270-01-462-3958WF to 1270-01-578-2401WF. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force/Defense Logistics Agency in conducting market research of industry to identify potential contractors for this effort. At this time, International Enterprises, Inc (IEI) is the only contractor known to have these capabilities. The Government is neither negotiating nor calling for offers at this time; this announcement is an expression of interest only and does not commit the Government to pay for any response preparation cost. The United States Air Force/Defense Logistics Agency is seeking potential offerors who are interested and believe they posse the technical capability, resources, facilities and data to manufacture subject assets. Only approved sources that can demonstrate they have the applicable data, owned by the OEM (IEI) will be considered for manufacturing of these items. The Defense Logistics Agency at Hill Air Force Base UT, DLA Aviation intends to award two separate contracts for the procurement of NSN: 5975-01-576-1361 WF and 5975-01-577-5206WF in order to repair and upgrade the F16 HUD and PDU (as discussed above). Current plans call for the Air Force/Defense Logistics Agency to acquire manufacturing support through one or more indefinite-delivery contracts awarded using either sole-source or competitive procedures. It is anticipated that subject contract(s) will be Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract(s) with a 5 year ordering period. The total estimated ordering amount for 5975-01-576-1361WF is anticipated to be 700. The total estimated ordering amount for 5975-01-577-5206WF is anticipated to be 450 units. Anticipated contract award date will be in year 2011. The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this Sources Sought Synopsis or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. Copies of the submitted information will be reproduced and submitted to the F-16 HUD/PDU Integrated Process Team (IPT) for review. Results of the review will be used to develop the acquisition strategy and draft the Request for Proposal (RFP).
