Det-tronics hydrogen leak detectors and mid-infrared hydrogenfire detectors have been installed at the launch pads and mobile launch platforms forover twenty years. These detectors have been qualified through an extensive ShuttleGround Support Equipment Transducer Qualification review process and are approved for useas ground support equipment. Conducting qualification testing on products from othersources would require significant time and cost. Continued use of Det-tronics detectorsenables the re-use of spares that will become available after the Space Shuttle Programtermination.
