Description

VA-786-11-RP-0058 Notice of Sole Source intent: The Department of Veterans Affairs, intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis to the Nuzum Trucking Company. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for provision of screen top soil to be furnished and deliver to West Virginia National Cemetery (WVNC). The Contractor shall Furnish & Deliver (F.O.B. Destination within Consignee's Premises) screen top soil to West Virginia National Cemetery Rt 2 Box 127, Grafton, WV 26354. In accordance with FAR Subpart 6.3, and under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c), full and open competition has not been provided based on 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The requirement was solicited open market in effort to obtain competition; however, there was no response to RFQ VA-786-11-RP-0006. West Virginia National Cemetery is located in a rural area which has limited resources available. Historically, WVNC has had difficulty locating potential sources/contractors with the capabilities to provide supplies/services necessary to fulfill basic day-to-day cemetery operational needs. The award to this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 484110 with a size standard of $8.5 million. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting their proposals to the email indicated below. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. If you feel that your business possesses the ability to provide this requirement, then you must respond by email to Joselito.Roman@VA.Gov. Your response must be submitted by January 26, 2011, 2:00 AM EST.
