Description
Sole Source Justification NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: CDC announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award for the purchase to publish a supplemental issue of the Clinical Infectious Diseases Journal with Oxford University Press. The anticipated period of performance will be February 21, 2011 - September 15, 2011. Oxford University Press is the only source available to publish eleven articles highlighting recommendations from the 2010 CDC STD Treatment Guidelines in a supplemental issue to distribute to the clinical infectious disease medical community within the critical timeframe deemed necessary by CDC. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 13 procedures. The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. The contractor shall peer review, copy edit, layout, prepare galley proofs and transmit proofs for each article 2. The contractor shall incorporate edits and revisions for each corrected proof 3. The contractor shall publish the final articles in a supplement issue of the CID journal and distribute the supplement issue to the subscribers of the CID journal. 4. The contractor shall ship 300 additional copies of the supplemental issue to the CDC. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses should be received by February 14, 2011 @ 8:00AM Eastern Standard Time (EST). All responses must be in writing and can be sent via email to iom2@cdc.gov. No phone calls will be accepted.
