Description
Description: The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command-Picatinny, on behalf of the Project Manager Soldier Weapons (PM SW), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources to provide the capability to apply permanent Item Unique Identification (DFARS 252.211-7003) to US Army Small Arms. Application must be in accordance with MIL-STD-130N. MIL-STD-130N requires a permanent direct part mark (DPM) that must survive the life of the weapon, to include all weapon operating environments and overhaul requirements. The 2D data matrix must be usable and readable throughout the life of the weapon. It is desired that sources sought have experience applying direct part mark UID marks to current US Army Small Arms (steel, aluminum and titanium) in accordance with (IAW) MIL-STD-130N and that the process has been validated in relative environments, IAW the environmental tests as outlined in MIL-STD-810G (cold, hot, salt/fog, and sand). DPM capability must exist now and 2D data matrix produced must be in compliance with MIL-STD-130N and be compatible with current US Army hand held terminals. MIL-STD-130N and MIL-STD-810G compliant coupons (sample UID marks on steel, aluminum, and titanium) should be submitted at no cost to the U.S. Government, no later than 3:00PM EST on 24 February 2011 to: KathleenNotaroberto, ACC-PICA-SW, Phipps Road, BLDG 9, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000; email kathleen.notaroberto@us.army.milAdditionally, please provide the firms name and address, point of contactwith telephone number and email address, type of business (i.e. small/large & number of employees), brochure/literature, as well as identification of current customers. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. This is a market survey to be used for informational planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
