- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation number N00167-11-T-0031 applies and is hereby issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and quotes/proposals are being requested. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333314 with the size standard of 500 employees. The small business set-aside has been dissolved. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) currently performs intricate, classified inspections on Navy Fleet Vessels through use of a boroscope manufactured by the Zibra Corporation. Based on the results of these previous inspections, NAVSEA has now tasked NSWCCD engineers with additional inspections which require the use of specialized underwater equipment. To meet this additional need NSWCCD intends to negotiate a non-competitive procurement with the Zibra Corporation, Westport, MA 02790 for the purchase of one (1) Zibra Submersible Video Display System. With the use of (OEM) equipment, engineers will eliminate integration and compatibility issues which could result in unnecessary delays and lost man-hours and additional costs to the Government. See the ATTACHED solicitation document N00167-11-T-0031 for requirements, and clauses and provisions applicable to this solicitation.
