- Q&A Set #2 Question 1:Is it desired to have generator tie-in capability on the system? Answer 1:It is desired, but the system must be able to operate independently of a generator. Question 2:If yes to having generator tie-in capability - Is it desired to have an onboard generator with the unit or just a generator tie-in receptacle on the unit that can be connected into from a standard military generator? Answer 2:Receptacle Question 3:If yes to a generator tie-in capability - Do you want generator to charge the batteries and power the load, or charge the batteries only or power the load only? Answer 3:Charge the batteries and power the load. Question 4:Is it desired to have a wind turbine tie-in receptacle on the unit? Answer 4:No Question 5:What is the desired battery autonomy (Battery Reserve) for the system based on a 500 Watt continuous load? (i.e. 24 hours, 48 hours etc.) Answer 5:90% confidence for 24 hours. Battery reserve will depend on type of battery selected and system design points. Battery should have a minimum of a 2 year operational life and 5 year shelf life. Question 6:Is it desired to have both regulated 28VDC and 120VAC/60HZ power output or just one of the two? Answer 6:Both Question 7: If one of the two power outputs from question 5 is desired, which output if most preferred? Answer 7:DC is preferred Question 8:Is there a desired deployed maximum footprint for the entire system? Answer 8:Strive for minimization
