Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following items: 1) a rebuilt Hardinge High Speed Toolroom Lathe Model HLV-EM using original manufacturer parts and operational to specifications of a new machine. The rebuilt Hardinge High Speed Toolroom Lathe must include installation of 1) 1 - each, Hardinge - L8 Taper Turning Attachment (inch), 2) 1 - each New Acu-Rite Digital Readout; and 3) 1 - each HLV Worklight kit. Additional required original manufacture parts will include factory installation of new headstock spindle and new bearings, guaranteed to be.000025 total indicator reading (T.I.R.). Rebuild collet closer and replace all worn parts with original factory parts. This will include a new spindle. The new tailstock spindle will be installed at factory. Rebuild cross slide and tool post slide to include installation of new screws, nuts, dials, and bearings. Factory installed new Teflon on under surface of carriage. Factory installed new hardened and ground wear strips on cross slide. Replace all bearings with new bearings. New clutch plates will be installed. Specific requirements also include completely disassemble, clean and inspect all parts both mechanical and electrical. Entire machine is stripped of all old paint and filler. Repaint machine in original Hardinge 7B Gray urethane paint. Replace all worn and broken parts, with exception of broken castings or slides. All ways and new gibs will be scraped into factory standard. Install new style molded wipers on carriage. Rebuild apron gear train. Install a reground bed plate. Grind and scrape all sliding ways to factory standard. Rebuild drive and electrical system includes power feed and variable speed controls. Reassembled machine and final inspection will conform to original factory specifications of a new machine. Test cuts must ensure +/-.0001 on turned components. This rebuild will be an exchange/trade-in of an existing machine in order to minimize down time and work stoppages. The rebuilt machine will include the following: 1) 1 - each, Hardinge - G5 Male Center 2) 1 - each, Hardinge HDC - Heavy Duty Anti-friction Tailstock Center with Number 2 Morse Taper Shank, 3) 1 - each, Four Barrel Stop, 4) 1 - each, Hardinge 5 3 Jaw Universal Through-Hole Chuck taper, 5) 1 - each, Hardinge 6 3 Jaw Reversible/Replaceable Chuck Taper Nose Mount, and 6) 2 - each, Hardinge 5C Collet set 1/16" to 1 1/16" by 64ths (65 per). This requirement is sole sourced to Iverson & Company, Inc., 441 North third Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois as the only approved vendor to guarantee original manufacture parts, exchange/trade-in, and new headstock spindle and new bearings, guaranteed to be.000025 total indicator reading (T.I.R.). Any firms believing that they can provide the above specified rebuilt Hardinge High Speed Toolroom Lathe Model HLV-EM for exchange may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than the date posted on this notice. It must clearly show the firm s ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability of the rebuilt lathe with original parts without causing programmatic hardship. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
