CONTACTINFORMATION IS WITHIN THE BODY OF THIS SOLICITATION******* This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation;offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. NASA/NSSC has a requirement for a course entitled UAV Aircraft Conceptual Design. Theobjective of the training is to provide an overview of technically current UAVs CaseStudies, UAV roles and missions, requirements definition, command and control, avionicsoverview, aircraft conceptual design methods, UAV structure, subsystems and operations,design analysis, performance analysis, and cost analysis to 30 Langley Research Centeremployees. The course shall at a minimum cover UAV roles and missions, requirementsdefinition,command and control, avionics; UAV structure and manufacturing concepts, UAVsubsystems and operations; UAV design analysis including aerodynamics, weights,propulsion, range and performance analysis; and cost analysis and optimizations methods. The vendor shall conduct a 3-day course on technically current UAV state of the arttechnology for 30 students. The course is to be offered in March of 2011 and at thetechnical level required to support the Advanced Aircraft Program, Subsonic Fixed WingProject, the Integrated System Research Program Mission as well as other technicalprojects at the NASA Langley Research Center. The vendor shall be responsible forproviding course materials for each participant. The instructor must have a PhD in thefield of aeronautics, a strong background in UAV design and strong instructional/teachingskills. The offeror shall state in their offer their size status for this procurement. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DC-09 Offers for the items(s) described above are due by 02/14/2011 by 4:30 p.m.CST to AmandaMcInnis, Amanda.T.McInnis@nasa.gov, or faxed to 228-813-6891 and must include,solicitation number, discount/payment terms, identification of any special commercialterms, and be signed by an authorized company representative.
