Description
Request for Information Source Control Management External Security Interface Requirements This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. Please reference "Source Control Management External Security Interface Requirements" when responding to this announcement. The Social Security Administration's (SSA) Source Control Management staff is seeking sources capable of providing a robust software package that can provide a transparent external security interface for controlling functions within CA Endevor. With this Request for Information (RFI) SSA is attempting to identify responsible vendors who can provide SSA with an external security interface that can be used with CA Endevor. • Minimum Mandatory Requirements: 1.) Product must transparently interface through IBM's System Authorization Facility (SAF) to utilize SSA's site security package (CA Top Secret) to control CA Endevor function access. 2.) Product must be considered GA and commercially available. 3.) Product must control user access to CA Endevor environments. 4.) Product must control user access to CA Endevor systems. 5.) Product must control user access to CA Endevor subsystems. 6.) Product must have capability to secure the following CA Endevor functions: • DISPLAY • ADD/UPDATE • RETRIEVE • ARCHIVE • DELETE • MOVE • GENERATE • CREATE • CAST • BACKOUT • SIGNIN • LIST • MODIFY • REVIEW • SHIP • RETREIVE • SIGNIN OVERRIDE • VALIDATE • DYNAMIC • REVIEW • EXECUTE 7.) Product must include a trace facility for all security access requests. 8.) Product must have reporting capability of security violations. 9.) Product must have the capability to run in WARN mode for security violations. 10.) Product must have capability to write SMF records on a z/OS platform for any security exceptions. • Questions: 1. What are the possible environment configurations? 2. What are the minimum software requirements? 3. Which O/S platforms does your product support? 4. What is the licensing model? 5. What is the maintenance/support model? 7. Are there any other access permission levels used by the tool? 8. Is the product available on a GSA or SEWP? Vendor Responses Vendors having the capability to meet the above minimum mandatory requirements are invited to submit complete details of their solution. The responses must include answers to our questions and clearly state how the solution provides the capability to meet our mandatory requirements. Sources must sufficiently demonstrate the capability to meet these requirements and must provide detailed experience and qualifications in all previous work pertinent to this effort. This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this synopsis and submittals will not be returned to the sender. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. You may submit product cost and/or pricing data, inclusive of annual maintenance, with your response, however it is not required. Respondents should refer to SSA-RFI-11-0204. Electronic responses only must be submitted by e-mail to rick.bolt@ssa.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 4:30 pm Eastern Time on February 18, 2011. Faxed information will not be permitted. The size limitation for email attachments is 5 megabytes.
