THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. Responses are due no later than 12:00 p.m. Japanese Standard Time (JST) February 16, 2011. This sources sought Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational and planning purposes only. The information requested by this RFI will be used within the Government to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. Please note that the Government will NOT reimburse respondents or be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this request for information. The Governments intent is to solicit and award contracts for a potentially indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract for the future. The Government is researching responsible sources that can provide Barracks/Dorm Furniture and perform installation services from manufacturers of Barracks/Dorm Furniture for all OCONUS Marine Corp bases Japan. Responses are to be sent via email to susan.j.jackson@usmc.mil no later than 12:00 p.m.JST February 16, 2011. The Barracks Furnishing items we are currently considering are: 1) Pop-Top Beds/Captain Beds/Bed Frames/Bunk Beds 2) Headboard/Footboard 3) Secretary/Mini-Wall Unit 4) Lounge furniture (sofa & loveseat)/Recliner 5)End Table/Coffee Table 6) Bar Stools 7) Desk and Chair 8) Night Stand 9) Dining Table /Bar Table & Chairs 10)Entertainment Center 11) Bookshelf 12) TV Armoire 13) Microwave Cart 14) Wardrobe 15) Mattress & Box Spring 16) File Cabinet 17) Activity Table 18) Lamps 19) Rugs 20)Drapes 21)Wall Mirrors. Services we are considering include installation of new furniture OCONUS. We would like to know your ability to handle a large barracks project of 100 rooms or more at one time along with other surge requirements. Also would like you to identify your shipping procedures for OCONUS. Request you provide your current commercial warranties on these products along with your commercial maintenance/service procedures. Request you specify the testing standards that apply to the above furniture items (i.e. ANSI/BIFMA X5.5 1998). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)Code 337122 (Nonupholstered Wood Household Furniture Manufacturing). The Federal Supply Classification (FSC) is 7105. Pursuant to FAR 4.1102(a), prospective vendors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Information requested: 1) Name and address of company, Company Point of Contact, Telephone number, Fax Number and E-mail addresses. 2) Capability information in terms of the ability to provide any or all of the Barracks Furniture and services identified above to any or all the United States Marine Corp bases in Japan to include Okinawa. The capability package must be clear, concise, and complete. The United States Marine Corp is under no obligation to provide feedback to the company, or to contact the company for clarification of any information submitted in response to this request. Capability packages should be limited to no more than 40 pages. 3) Contract references relating to Government Barracks Furniture delivery and delivery services to include: Contract Number; agency supported, whether or not contractor was a prime or a subcontractor, period of performance, original contract value, final or current contract value, COR and phone/fax number, POC with current phone/fax number, and a brief description of the effort; 4) Sample commercial contract with terms and conditions for a typical purchase. Include your definition of a "typical" purchase. 5) Any other information deemed useful to the United States Marine Corp. Submission Information: An electronic copy of each response to this RFI shall be submitted no later than 15 February 2011 via e-mail to susan.j.jackson@usmc.mil. Please refer any questions via e-mail to these same emails. Any responses received after that date may be evaluated at the Government's discretion as time permits.
